Description:This study guide provides 500 questions in a format similar to Step 2 of the USMLE and then a brief review for each of the possible answers.
Purpose:It is intended to provide an opportunity to study the information likely to appear on the step 2 USMLE in a format similar to this test or other tests for pediatrics. The explanations for each possible answer are well written and easy to understand.
Audience:Although intended for students of pediatrics preparing for USMLE step 2, the book is also useful preparation for any general pediatrics examination.
Features:This is a good review of general pediatrics that covers all pertinent areas as well as it can within the constraints of 500 questions. The format is fairly standard and has been successful in previous editions. Changes have been made in this edition to reflect current pediatric practice.
Assessment:This new edition is appropriate for a constantly changing field of study. It is a good basic review in a familiar format that is not unique for this genre. Overall, it should be a convenient and useful study guide.
