This modified and expanded version of an informal inventory retains popular features, such as graded passages and words in isolation tests, while including such new components as a test for recognizing words in context, a dictated story strategy for assessing the reading behaviors of emerging readers, techniques for assessing the recall of narrative and expository texts, and procedures for determining the familiarity and interest level of selections read. Introductory sections provide specific instructions for using the SIRI. Spiral wire binding. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
