Author Biography: Mary Ann Caws is Distinguished Professor of English, French, and Comparative Literature at the Graduate School, City University of New York. She is the author and editor of many books, including Écritures de femmes, published by Yale University Press, and Marcel Proust (Overlook Illustrated Lives).
