This edition is a reprint in one volume of the English translation of canique Quantique/>, published in two volumes in the US by Wiley in 1958. The books resulted from courses given at the Center of Nuclear Studies at Saclay during the 1950s, and they are esteemed for the clarity and coherence of their presentation. Volume I (which was translated from the French by G.H. Temmer) contains chapters addressing various aspects of formalism and its interpretation, and simple systems. Volume II (translated by J. Potter) addresses symmetries and invariance. The combined index for both volumes is at the end of this edition. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
